Many food and weight issues arise when people are living according to someone else's imposed standards. The conflict between who we are and who we think we should be can be too painful to sit with — so we turn to food, exercise, or a relentless inner monologue of judgment for relief.

Strict diets and food journals may have worked for you in the past — and they may even be working now. I choose to focus elsewhere. Instead of helping you increase the attempt to have your weight "under control," I help you express what's been repressed underneath it.

Sessions are 50 minutes, in person in Boulder or San Clemente, or via telehealth across California, Colorado, Nevada, and North Carolina. Most clients meet weekly. The pace and depth of the work shift as we go — and the goal is for change to actually stick, not for you to white-knuckle through another approach.
